University of West Georgia Top Questions

I am an online student and it is very hard for incoming students that are freshmen to get spots in the online classes because they fill up very fast for specific programs.

Lack of financial aid.

The worst thing about West Georgia is the number of fraternities and sororities. The members make up a good portion of the student population.

The worst part about West Georgia is, by far, the amount of on-campus parking. It is impossible to find parking spots since they have expanded the on- campus housing. However, I do believe that they will improve on this matter within the next year or so.

The absolute worst thing about schooling at the University of West Georgia is the limited parking availability. Many students that live on campus have more of an advantage than students that live off campus. The parking spots for off-campus students in the school are not enough. Students tend to find themselves circling around campus trying to find somewhere to park, and it is such a struggle. They also risk being late to their daily courses and that is never a good thing. For me personally, I still have that problem myself no matter how early I arrive on campus.

The tutoring is terrible. I had one lady that made me feel stupid.

As of right now there is a lot of construction going on around campus ans sometimes it could get distracting while being in class and hearing someone hammer away at something. The construction won't be going on for much longer but at this point in time that has to be the worst thing about this school.

West Georgia is notorious for parting and its many distractions. Albeit many other schools have distractions, I feel the scholars shouldn't be affected by this. However they have the first year drop out rate is 11{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c} and the graduation rate is only 11-32{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c}. Hopefully, while at West Georgia, I can become a catalyst to the learning environment and boost these numbers.

I do not like that they force the freshmen to buy the largest meal plan. The next cheapest meal plan is half the price with only 3 less meals a week.

The program I was enrolled in (music) taught me many things, but had weaknesses that I realize in retrospect have left me lacking certain skills that I have had to make up for after the fact.

i belelive that after the feeling of a new place wears off , one can quickly get bored with the atmosphere . The surrounding area is not much of a college town , all the interesting places and activities are seldom on campus &/or far and needing for transportation .

There are two things that I wish to change about my school; 1. the parking! there's not enough of it but they're working on it! 2. The school spirit! There's also not enough of it! We are not a very atheltically advanced university. Most of the "school spirit" is more about what greek organization you are a part of rather than our actual university sport programs.

Declining academic standards

I would say the worst thing about my school would be the school spirit. Many students do not go to any kind of sporting activities.

The worst thing I consider about my school is that they dont have as many activities as they did in the beginning of the school year. This is the worst thing about this school, because they were false advertsing aboutt coming to west georgia. All the fun and laughter we freshmans experianced during orientation, and the first week of school all expired once school really started. I can understand they pobably dont have many activities going on becuase of school, but they could at least have them during the weekend.

I really love attending University of West Georgia and cannot think of anything that deserves to be considered the "worst"thing.

The worst thing about my school is the behavior of the advisors. They take very little time to advise you and talk with you. TInstead, they are very quick to kick you out of thier office.

The random fees for things that i won't ever use and their obsesion with giving parking tickets for their own financial gain.

Unfortunately, at UWG, our biggest problem is parking. There are just not enough parking spaces on campus. UWG is situated in the city of Carrollton, and most students live off-campus (including myself). Unlike our neighbors in Atlanta, who can walk or take Marta to class, we at UWG have to drive ourselves, and there is not enough room for all our cars. In fact, sometimes waiting for a parking space can cause you to be late for class. The school has buses, but they only shuttle people around campus. Everyday is interesting.
