My overall opinion of University of West Georgia is that I love how big the campus is, there is so much to explore and many things to do when you're not in class. When on tour the students are very nice and not to mention how clean the campus was, there was no trash on the ground and people were just clean overall. When class is over there was always something to do, there are events planned every single day so it's an easy way to make new friends while on campus. University of West Georgia feels like a home away from home where there are nice people to talk to, fun clubs to join, and a place where school spirit never dies down.

An overall hidden gem of a school. Very good departments, especially if you want to get into Geology, Art, or Psychology. The dorms and food ae to be expected of a college, but the school is overall amazing and they give you so many opportunities to network and grow.

My opinion on West Georgia is good, I enjoy the environment. The classes and the professors are all amazing and they are willing to help students out. There are also a lot of organizations and different types of groups that you can join. You can also meet a lot of new people while being on campus, overall the University of West Georgia is an amazing school. More people should consider going to UWG.

First of all, let me just start off by saying that this school is very cheap and therefore ideal for people who are financially disadvantaged. I am not able to afford any other school other than West Georgia, and for the price it is pretty decent for what it offers. The academics are good. The professors are good, depending on your major. And the nursing and business program is what the school is known for and is pretty good.
The reason why I rate it average is because I am not happy with the advising I have received as a pre-medical major, and the Biology department leadership. The advisors here are TERRIBLE. If I listened to my advisors about anything they say, I would have been screwed up on so many levels. If you are a pre-profession major (pre-law, pre-dentistry, pre-vet, pre-med, etc), this is probably a very bad school for you to attend. You will have virtually no help at all to assist you in preparing for the application process. On top of this, the leadership in the Biology department is very bad. A lot of Bio professors are good, but some of them are terrible, rude, sarcastic, and not caring about students. The leadership is bad in the sense that there is no sense of community or connection with students, which is what I wanted to feel. In the chemistry department, it is totally different. The faculty make it a point to connect with students and the professors seem to get along and work well together to produce a sound department, which is necessary for leadership. But in the Biology department, some of the faculty don\\\'t get along with each other, and there were some \\\"big egos\\\" with the faculty that were standing in the way of it being a cohesive unit.
The food is very bad, and most juniors/seniors don\\\'t have a meal plan as a result. On campus housing sucks, so a lot of students either live off campus or commute. The party scene here is fairly stifled due to police cracking down on weed smoking and partying on campus, so most of the parties take place off campus in the form of kickbacks in off-campus apartments or venues close to campus. The students here are big on parties and they can be pretty wild, although I will admit I do not party and don\\\'t know that much about that lifestyle. The police here have a reputation of being racist, because the school is located in Carrollton, which is a predominately white conservative, and somewhat poor area.
Carrollton itself is not welcoming if you wander outside campus. It is very racist here, and this was especially felt in 2020 around the election time. If you are a minority coming here, just be prepared to see and experience some things and hear some comments that you never thought you would hear people say to your face.

It is a place where our learning is prioritize and also the student wellbeing. A great learning environment, there are great experiences, there are great teachers who are always rooting for the students achievement and greatness. It’s a very loving environment as the teachers and students strife to always be better.

I am currently going to my 3rd year at the University of West Georgia and it has been a complete joy. I have formed great relationships with many of my colleagues and faculty and on-campus, typically, there is always something to do. Obviously like any school, there are questionable areas such as parking and class registration. However, overall I am enjoying my schooling here and I am proud to say I am part of the pack.

Overall the University of West Georgia is a great school to attend, especially if you live near Carrollton, GA. There is plenty of school spirit here! Every weekend there is an event that makes you feel very connected to the school. The dorms are very spacious and are well heated and have A/C. Our sports teams play very well and have sportsmanship. : )

my overall opinion of the university of west georgia is that they truly care about the education, safety and future of their students. The classes are often small and the teachers readily available to assist students both inside and out of the classroom.

In my opinion, I like the University of West Georgia because there are different opportunities that makes me want to participate in. The professors and advisors are extremely nice and the the campus is very beautiful. I have met new friends, participated in extracurricular activities, and been involved in social events. The only exception that I would have to say is that the parking at the campus is kinda ridiculous because there are many restrictions that students cannot park and if you get a ticket, the fees are around $35-$50 (I have heard from a friend). Other than that, UWG is a great school to be at.

I believe the University of West Georgia is a very well-rounded and diverse school. The professors are very genuine, and care about their students success. Although, the professors office hours are very slim, and do not work very well around other students schedules they are willing to work with you. A lot of the time if you need help, or just want something majority of the time you just have to ask. I really enjoy the campus and the cleanliness of it, I just wish there were more options in student involvement, and I wish the students were nicer (but that is not a school related issue, that is a personal issue).

I think the University of West Georgia is a great school if you are looking for a small teacher: student ratio. The class sizes make the students feel more connected in the classroom. Although the University of West Georgia does have a huge parking problem where freshman students that live on campus can not get to their car in an adequate amount of time. Freshmen students are expected to park at the stadium, nearly 2 miles away from their dorm. This can affect a students ability to have an off-campus job. Overall, I love West Georgia and I wouldn't choose any other school, but there could be an exception for students who need their cars to get to work!

The University of West Georgia is generally a safe and accepting place to attend school. I have never been afraid to walk around campus or talk to other students and staff. People are open to intellectual conversation and are generally respectful when making conversation with someone they disagree with.

The University of West Georgia (UWG) has a diverse and enriching environment. The amount of events and clubs that encourage students to get involved is astounding. In terms of classes, UWG I take strictly online classes. I am a freshman in college and the online option not only saves me gas but saves money as well. UWG offers a payment plan for students to lessen the blow of tuition; it was helpful. UWG also offers facilities like a gym for its students; the gym is kept in decent shape. Even if you don't have time to stop at the gym; walking on the campus is as well.

First walking onto the campus it was raining and stormy, but even then the school was beautiful. There was no dead plant or brown leaf to be found as we walked into the interior of the campus, the plants were vibrant and beautiful. The dorms were completely clean and the temperature was ideal as you could adjust it yourself. The food was great that there was no need to even buy fast food that was a choice on campus. Overall my opinion of West Georgia is superb.

It's a great school. It wasn't my first choice, but after visiting the campus and hearing what a great business program they have, I changed my mind to attend him. They seem like they really care about the students and have opportunities to study abroad.
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for University of West Georgia is 59%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020, _____ students were offered admission.
What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
I would tell myself to be ready to do more school work on my own and not reliy on the teachers to help me get through my course work. Just because you only go to class 2 or 3 times a week for one class you need to look at your material everday to stay ontop of everything.
Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!
They have outstanding diversity among the students that provides an exceptionally friendly social environment. They also regurally look to students on improving life on campus which shows their concern for our well-being.
What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?
I wish that someone would've told me that money is very hard to come accross. Also i wish someone would've told me that strong, and i mean STRONG self-decipline, plays a major role in college.
The classes are great. I enjoy the smaller classes. I feel like I get to know the professors on a more personal level, allowing me to feel more comfortable participating in class.
What is the stereotype of students at your school? Is this stereotype accurate?
There is a mixture of everything, and as far as I could tell, the stereotypes are correct. I am a bit hypocritical in this case, thought, because I do not fit the stereotype I am typically placed in.
What are the most popular student activities/groups?
The most popular groups are definitely any of the Greek organizations. The majority of the students went Greek. I did not join any of the Greek organizations due to financial reasons. However, I have many friends that did and I love getting to know them and their brothers and sisters
