My college experience has taught me that I can do anything I am willing to work for. If I put the time and energy into learning a concept, I can. If I reach out to the community through volunteering and educaiton, I can make a difference. If I talk to my friends about social issues and life choices, I can influence tham for good. Respect and tolerance brings more opportunities than prejudice and hatred. You need to understand the problem before you can solve it. Do not take offense where it was not intended. Exceed expectations of those you are working for and don't expect a reward. All the good you do for others will be returned to you in unexpected ways. Your family is your greatest support. During the hard times, dig in your heels and don't budge until the project is complete. Enjoy the sunshine and social activities that college has to offer. Build others up and look for the good in people. Set short term and long term goals for your education, family life, and career. Repeat these goals daily and let them guide each decision you make.

While in college, I had many great opportunities, both on campus and off. One of my favorite experiences was the opportunity to start a business with a friend. I was able to apply many of the lessons I had learned while an undergraduate business student. I was able to go from a random thought, to a business concept, to a reality. Throughout this process I met many people who told me that they have had business ideas, but never did anything about them. Although our company was not as successful as we had hoped, I am still proud to say that I had an idea and I did something about it. My college experience taught me many valuable lessons about business, but even more about myself. It helped me to realize that I need to look for a career path that I am passionate about, and to work hard for success. I also learned the importance of believing in myself and going after my dreams.

My college experience has been very rough . seeing my parents struggle through work to give me and my sister a home and food encourages me. what discourages me is the whole financial issue with scholarships and grants. My parents work hard to earn money to pay rent and buy food and we live fine but at the cost of working yourself where you get home exhausted and straight to bed. instead of rewarding my parents we get denied financial aid because they work hard. I have learned from my two years of college experience that life is not fair and unpredictable. i have learnd that some people are lucky and some arent. I have learned to becom more independent and work hard for what i want and that is to get an education. I am working full time and going to school fulltime and it has been the toughest experience but i am not giving up. Just because i dont qualify for more than half of the scholarships and financial aid that does not sop me from persuing what i want and education. College has taught me to not give because life has ups and downs.

As a single father, the values of my college experience extend to my son. The outstanding educational benefits of attending college have made me a better, more educated father and I feel the opportunity my son has to see me attend college will be a key factor in his decision to further his education. It's fun when we get to sit down and do our homework together. Aside from the positive affect my current schooling has on my family life, I am becoming more aware of the world around me. From business and economic classes, I am able to better evaluate the condition of our economy and our government's influence. From my science classes, I have gained a better understanding of how life works, down to the smallest cell. From analyzing fine art to furthering my skills in public speaking, I have learned a veritable set of values that will contribute to my future success, and look forward to the opportunity to learn more.

Although UVU was not my first choice when I was deciding where I would begin my studies, I feel I have learned a lot. Life happened and my circumstances changed dramatically and I was unable to attend the schools I wanted to. Nevertheless, here at "UV High" as everyone calls it, I have learned that there are many not just young people going back to school. I made a friend my first semester, her name is Sonia and she is from Peru. She runs an accounting business in Peru but in order to expand her company she has to receive a degree from a U.S. school. She has helped me realize that a job can only get you so far in life, that education will, in the end, be the only thing that will stay as a constant throughout the tests of time. Deciding to go to college instead of working full time has been the best decision I have ever made. With the economy in the current state, it is in, education is the only constant and that what I have learned here has taught me that education is the key to success in life.

I have learned how to be self sufficient while and prudent with my money. I have learned how difficult it is to get a college education.

I have learned so much about my self and other people around me. School has taught how to manage money, time, and family. The education i have received is invaluable and i am better off because of it. I am the first in my family to attend a college and it has showed me many opportunities to better my life and the people around me. Getting my education and going to school is a must with the economy and competion for jobs today.

I have learned a lot of responsibility since I started college. I moved out and got a job. I am fully supporting myself and paying for my own tuition. It has taught me a lot about being financially responsible but also about being responsible for my own time. No one makes me come home at a certain time. No one makes me go to bed. No one makes me eat right. No one makes me do my homework. No one makes me go to class. College life really has taught me so much about being responsible for myself and my life. I have taken it into my own hands and whatever I become is my own doing. But college is giving me the opportunity to become exactly what I want to. I want to teach and without the amazing teachers that I have to help me learn, I don't know if I could ever accomplish that goal. College has taught me more about myself and real life than any other experience.

I have gotten out of school is that an education isn't cheep. It comes with a price and every minute counts. The time spent now with be the benifits to come for the rest of my life. I need to do all I can to be the best I can to provide for myself as well as my family and school is the stepping stone to that gaol in my life.

To whom it may concern, College for me has been one of the most uplifting experiences of my life. Throughout my journey to become a nurse, I have learned alot of things that I feel will make me become a better adult. When I first started college, I must admit that I was not ready. I actually thought that teachers still went above and beyound to make sure that your homework was completed. Boy was I wrong! In college I had to learn independence, and most importantly how to become a adult. College has taught me how to have patience and to work hard for what you want in life. Honestly, without college I dont think that I would have as much wisdom as I have acquired. Not to mention the countless lifelong friends that I managed to meet along the way. Words cannot express how grateful Iam to have had the opportunity to reach for my dreams, and become the best possible nurse that I can become. In life, there are constant turns along the way that can detour your way of thinking, but Iam so glad that I made the decision to go to college.
