If I could go back in time to talk to myself without letting my other self know its me so I don't feel like there is something wrong with me, I would give myself more confidence and be more of an extrovert. First I would observe myself a day or two or a week how I am doing in school. Then I would advise not to worry like I use to in High School for my College years. In College your an adult and there is freedom timewise and how you can speak to your Professors or walk on campus; also more activities than there was in High School. If I know I did my work and well in my grades in High School then College would be just the same just a little stricter because your working on your career to succeed in reality, in life. Talk to people on campus who are ahead in their years in College and your Professors for advise in succeeding in your chosen career. Going down the right path by making the right connections in life and with God all things are possible.

If I could go back in time as a high school senior and talk to myself I would do so many things differently than what I did before. First of all I would tell myself not to slack in any classes and starting as a freshman to try my hardest to get straight A's. I would tell myself that college is not easy at all. If I thought any highschool classes were hard they are nothing compared to what college classes are. In college you don't get to choose what assignment to do and what not to do. You have to very responsible in college with all your classes and that the SAT I take in highschool does matter in college, that will help me get into a better and bigger school. I would tell myself to study for the SAT and take as many AP classes as possible and pass them with a high grade. Also that at the beggining of senior year to start applying for many universities and colleges and not wait till the end of senior year to see what school accepts me.

I would say tell myself to apply for more scholarships because college is expensive

If you want to reach a goal, you have to work and study hard for it. Nothing comes easy but when you reach your goal you will be rewarded with an achievement that can't be taken from you. Prepare for the journey and always remember that you are the only one that can make your dreams come true. Keep your head held high, even when it seems that things may not be going as they should. With the hard work and determination that you put forth, there will be lifelong rewards for you.

I would advise myself to be more motivated and to put school first.

The most important thing to know is the cost of the school and if it is affordable. Be sure to find out what type of financial aid is available to you before attending. You will only be hurting your self if you start then have to switch because you cannot afford it. Make sure you visit the college to learn if you will be satisfied with the location, dormitories, facilities, etc. Some people do not visit a college before they attend then find themselves dissatisfied upon arrival. Also, be aware of school polices that may concern you, such as dorm regulations and what may or may not be permitted on campus, such as alcohol or cigarettes. It is also important that one sample the cafeteria food, preferably on a day that is not a scheduled visitor day in order to get an accurate sample. You will not be happy if you have to eat food you do not like. Finally, learn if the school is religiously affilated or not. Christian schools require students to take Bible classes and attend chapel services. Depending on your personal beliefs this may or may not be an issue for you.

You will want to find the "right" college for you. Don't settle for any college unless you know you can accept the college. I've seen many people show up at my school and try to hate it and compare it to larger schools. Know that not every school is the same and not every school is for you. That way you won?t show up at my college only to give it a depressed attitude and tell me how "horrible" my school is compared to the University of Florida. I found a school I love... you should too.

Make sure you take your time when choosing. If your leaning towards or have a gut feeling, go with it. I know money can be tight, but look for scholarships such as these, they will help you pay for school and help you go to the school of your dreams. College should be an enjoyable time, you not only learn from professors, you learn life lessons and you learn to become a responsible adult. You will do a lot of growing in college.

I would have to tell students that some cliche's hold true. You will get out of college whatever you put into it. I've had friends that haven't gotten involved with anything, and stayed in thier room, constantly studying. Granted, school is about studying, but it is also about learning about the real world, and yourself. No classroom can replace the real world experiences that most go through in college. Making friends, joining clubs, even joining a sorority or a fraternity: each of these things will add to your college experience, and add to the list of friends that you will have forever. My biggest advice when going into college; jump into it headfirst, with almost reckless abandon, and the rewards for really committing yourself to learning about all you can will be remarkable. Remember, college is about classes, but it is also about learning about yourself and the real world.

Some advice that I would give to parents and the students is to pick the one the mostly goes with you personality. Pick the one the feels right to you. Where ever you go you will make friends, and those friends will be there for you, for the rest if your life. To make the most of your college experience is to get involved with the campus. Don't just sit and study, have fun, but also have a focus on school work. Get involved with anything, whether it be frats, clubs, or whatever. Be involved. That is all I can really say.
