Sexual assault on U.S. college campuses has been aheadline issue for many years. Recently, the results of a historic survey of sexual assault at 27 U.S. universities were released.
According to the study from the Association of American Universities (AAU) released on Sept. 21, one in four women experience some form of sexual assault during their four years at college.
The Washington Post provided a detailed summary of the report that broke down the findings for each university.
Colleges such as University of Southern California, University of Michigan, Harvard University, and many others were surveyed, covering a wide range of sexual misconduct.
The survey investigated:
- Penetration by physical force or incapacitation
- Sexual touching by physical force or incapacitation
- Stalking
- Intimate partner violence
- Opinions on what the university would do when an incident is reported
- How problematic students feel sexual assault and misconduct is
