Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award provided.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must plan to enroll or be currently enrolled in a professional degree program in architecture. A professional degree is either a five-year Bachelor of Architecture degree or a 4+2 pre-professional bachelor degree followed by a Master of Architecture degree.
  3. Must enroll in a National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB)-accredited program. A list of eligible schools is available online at www.naab.org/architecture_programs/home.
  4. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  5. Must be a minority and/or financially disadvantaged.
  6. Must be a high school senior, current college freshman, OR a technical school or community college student that has completed high school or its equivalent and plans to transfer into an eligible program.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: High school seniors, current college freshmen, and community/technical college graduates who will enroll in an NAAB-accredited architecture program are eligible for this award. Students must be minorities and/or financially disadvantaged.

Application requirements for the AIA/F Diversity Advancement Scholarship are:

  • Essay
  • Recommendation letter
  • Application form
  • Official Transcript
  • Resume (opt.)
  • Media samples

Award Amount: $4,000 annually, renewable every year until degree completion, up to a total of five years and a maximum of $20,000.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $20,000.
