In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a confirmed member of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A).
  3. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  4. Must plan to attend one of the participating colleges related to the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). A list of the eligible schools is on the application.
  5. Must plan to enroll full time.
  6. Must have a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
  7. Must be a high school senior at time of application.

Description: This scholarship is available for U.S. high school seniors who are confirmed members of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and plan to attend one of the participating colleges related to the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). Applicants must have a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale.

Additional Information: Students must demonstrate financial need. Students must also take the SAT/ACT exam no later than Dec. 15 of their senior year.

Award Amount: $250 to $1,500 annually, renewable for up to three years.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,500.

Applications are available on the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) website. In addition to the completed application, the student must also submit the following: a one-page resume or curriculum vitae detailing high school-related activities (must provide dates of participation); a typed, double-spaced, 500- to 1,000-word essay on the topic listed on the application; an official high school transcript; a completed 'Certification of Church Membership and Pastor's Endorsement' (to be completed by his/her pastor); and a completed 'Secondary School Report' (to be completed by a school counselor, advisor, principal, or teacher.) Students must also file the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) by the deadline. The FAFSA is available online at www.fafsa.ed.gov, at high school guidance offices, and at college financial aid offices. The application and all supporting materials must be submitted by email no later than the deadline date.
