In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: High school seniors with a 'C' average residing in one of the 26 northernmost counties of the Texas panhandle are eligible for this award. Students must be engaged in or sincerely interested in a shooting sport or activity. Click here to learn how to apply.

Application requirements for the Amarillo Handgunners Association – The Bill Goodson Memorial Scholarship are:

  • Recommendation letter
  • Application form
  • Official Transcript
  • IRS Form 1040
  • ACT/SAT scores
  • Shooting Activities and Awards
Additional Information: This scholarship was established in May 1987 by the Amarillo Handgunners Club, Inc. to provide financial aid to a deserving student with achievements in shooting sports. The scholarship is named in memory of Bill Goodson, a stalwart pioneer of the club. Applicants are not required to attend a certain institution or major in a certain field of study to receive this scholarship.

Award Amount: $500 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $500.
