Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  3. Must be a high school senior at time of application.
  4. Must be a female.
  5. Must attend South Charleston High School in West Virginia.
  6. Must plan to be a full-time student (minimum of 12 credit hours).
  7. Must have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher.
  8. Must have an ACT score of 20 or higher.

Description: This award is for U.S. female students who are graduating from South Charleston High School. The applicant must have a 2.5 grade point average or higher and an ACT score of 20 or higher to be eligible. Click here to learn more and apply today!

Application requirements for the Margaret Parsons ‘Porky’ Moss Scholarship Fund are:

  • Recommendation letter
  • Application form
  • Official Transcript
  • Tax return
Additional Information: Students may only receive one scholarship per year from TGKVF. The applicant will be notified by TGKVF by May 15. The foundation will mail the full amount of the award in August. It is applied to the entire academic year. The check is payable jointly to the recipient and the college, but is mailed directly to the recipient. Any student who withdraws from school for any reason will be expected to notify the foundation of his/her status and refund any unused, refundable portion of the scholarship. In addition to other requirements, the applicant must also demonstrate good moral character and financial need.

Award Amount: $600 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $600.
