This $1,000 scholarship honors Virginia Ruff, a member of Bedford BPW for more than 50 years at the time of her death in April 2002 at age 94. A graduate of The College of Mary Washington and The College of William and Mary, Miss Ruff dedicated her life to the education of Bedford children as a teacher at the Villamont and Montvale schools, and as a librarian at Bedford and Liberty High Schools. She retired in 1973. This scholarship provides financial assistance for women seeking education to re-enter the job market, advancement and/or to achieve economic self-sufficiency. A committee of four BPW members selects the recipient.

The Scott Cooper Miami Scholarship program is inspiring today’s leaders in the classroom to become tomorrow’s leaders in a business environment. This scholarship program is in place to aid post-secondary students in establishing themselves in the job market, providing students with the tools to succeed in their studies.
The Scott Cooper Miami Scholarship program provides students with a one-time scholarship worth $500.00 (USD/CAD) to any post-secondary student who has accepted an offer at an accredited U.S. or Canadian post-secondary institution. The eligible programs are listed below:

This award is named in honor of J.C. Cote, who was a dedicated member of the ARSHRM State Council and the Western Arkansas SHRM chapter (WAHRA). J.C. served as Chapter President of WAHRA for two years. He also represented the ARSHRM State Council as 2001 State HR Conference Chair and as West District Director. J.C. put his “heart and soul” into these roles. Through this scholarship award, the Arkansas SHRM State Council seeks to identify and reward students who characterize J.C.’s commitment to the human resources profession.
The GHR Fellows Scholarship Program at St. Thomas is a transformational undergraduate experience for ten students pursuing careers in business. Fellows receive full-tuition scholarships to the University of St. Thomas and customized cohort programming designed to deliver impactful leadership experiences. The scholarship covers full tuition and required fees for four years (and may, pending demonstrated financial need, include grant funds that assist with room and board costs). Recipients will get a fully funded J-Term study abroad experience, a customized four-year cohort program with other GHR Fellows, individual career coaching and preparation and service learning and social entrepreneurship opportunities as well as access to C-suite business, community and university leaders.
