Number of Awards & Eligibility: One scholarship will be provided each year.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be a high school senior.
  2. Must reside in Worcester County, MA.
  3. Must be female.
  4. Must be planning to major in engineering.

Description: The John N. Engelsted Scholarship is available for female high school seniors in Worcester County, MA. Applicants must be planning to pursue a major in engineering.

Application requirements for the John N. Engelsted Scholarship are:

  • Transcript
  • Recommendation letter
Additional Information: The John N. Engelsted Scholarship is provided annually through the Greater Worcester Community Foundation (GWCF), and scholarships will be awarded to local area women who are planning to major in engineering. The GWCF has provided opportunity and financial assistance for more than 40 years in the central Massachusetts area, and continues this mission today with a variety of programs including scholarships for local area students. All applications completed prior to the deadline date will be given full consideration based on academic history, unmet financial need, and the strength of received recommendation letters. Additional consideration will be given to applicants who demonstrate a particular interest in engineering through relevant work history, extracurricular activities, and/or academic course of study.

Award Amount: $300-$5000  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $5,000.
