In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be a licensed radio amateur with a general class or higher license.
  2. Must major in electronics, communications, or a related field.
  3. Must attend a college/university located in the ARRL Roanoke Division area (NC, SC, VA, WV).
  4. Must reside in the ARRL Roanoke Division area (NC, SC, VA, WV).
  5. Must be pursuing a bachelor's degree or higher.
  6. This award is for international and U.S. students.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: The L. Phil and Alice J. Wicker Scholarship is for a licensed radio amateur with a general class or higher license who is a resident of and attends college in the ARRL Roanoke Division (North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia). The student must be pursuing a bachelor's degree or higher in electronics, communications, or related fields.

Additional Information: Applicants for this scholarship must reside in and attend a college or university in the ARRL Roanoke Division (NC, SC, VA, WV). Students must be planning to pursue a bachelor's or graduate degree in electronics, communications, or a related field. Recipients are typically notified by mid-May by USPS mail and email.

Award Amount: $500 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $500.
