In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a resident of Michigan since July 1 of the previous calendar year.
  3. Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or an approved refugee (according to federal regulations).
  4. Must enroll at least half time.
  5. Must attend an approved independent, degree-granting Michigan postsecondary institution.
  6. Must not be pursuing a degree in theology, divinity, or religious education.
  7. Must be pursuing a first undergraduate degree program.
  8. Must demonstrate financial need.

Additional Information: The Michigan Tuition Grant program is available to undergraduate students pursuing their first degrees at an approved Michigan postsecondary institution. A list of eligible MI institutions can be found online at the link provided. Students must demonstrate financial need. The student's financial aid office will calculate the student's financial aid package and financial need. Financial need is calculated as follows: Cost of attendance (COA) - Expected Family Contribution (EFC). The EFC is calculated by the U.S. Department of Education using information provided on the FAFSA. Students should contact his/her institution for additional details.

Award Amount: Up to $2,800 per year  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,800.
