Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is open to U.S. and international students who are residents of and attending an accredited cosmetology school in California or Oregon. Students must have graduated from high school or have a GED, and have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

Application requirements for the Winger Leyes Endowment Scholarship are:

  • Essay
  • Recommendation letter
  • Application form
  • Official Transcript
  • $5 app. fee per scholarship
Additional Information: Please note: The required $5 application fee is used to cover the costs of running the scholarship program. Any fee monies remaining after costs have been covered are put back into the general scholarship fund to support future scholarship awards. Applicants are selected based on the following criteria: leadership/service; financial need; and scholastic ability. Winners will be notified by June 1.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, non-renewable.Funds are to be used for the student's required "kit"/supplies.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.
