Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually. In prior years, four scholarships were awarded.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for international students.
  2. Must be pursuing a master's degree.
  3. Must be studying petroleum engineering.
  4. Must be from a country in the SPE Africa Region. Detailed information on regions is available online at www.spe.org/about/regions.php.

Description: This scholarship is open to students pursuing a master's degree in petroleum engineering. Students must be from a country in the SPE Africa Region.

  • Essay
  • Recommendation letter
Additional Information: The Imomoh Scholarship was endowed to the SPE Foundation by Egbert Imomoh to support excellence in education for students from the SPE Africa Region. Please note: All students must comply with the SPE sanction policy, which states that scholarships cannot be awarded to students in countries sanctioned by the U.S. and E.U. because there are persons involved in providing these services who may be prohibited by U.S. or E.U. laws. Additional information is available online at www.spe.org/about/laws.php. Recipients will be notified and posted on the SPE website by August 1.

Award Amount: $2,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $8,000.
