In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Educational Level: Current high school seniors, vocational students, college students, or graduate students are welcome to apply. The scholarship is open to individuals enrolled in a vocational program or a two to four-year post-secondary institution for the upcoming semester following the application deadline.
  2. Academic Standing: Candidates for this scholarship should have a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher and maintain good overall academic standing.

Here’s your chance to shed light on a dangerous intersection or road in your neighborhood and propose innovative solutions to enhance safety and create a secure environment for residents. At Emmanuel Sheppard & Condon, we care about road safety. We want to hear your creative ideas and practical recommendations that can significantly reduce accidents and improve overall road safety. To apply, simply write an essay outlining the problematic intersection or road, highlighting the specific challenges it poses and the potential hazards it creates. Then, present your innovative ideas to mitigate risks and enhance safety, such as infrastructure improvements, traffic management strategies, or community involvement initiatives. Our firm will carefully review all submissions and select the most compelling essay demonstrating a thorough understanding of the issue and offering practical solutions. The winner will be awarded a scholarship to support their educational journey and become an advocate for road safety in their community. Let’s create a safer tomorrow, one street at a time!

Application requirements for the Preventing Accidents Scholarship are:

  • Website registration
Additional Information: Exclusions: Employees of Emmanuel Sheppard & Condon law firm, their immediate family members (including parents, children, siblings, and spouses), as well as individuals residing in the same household as the aforementioned individuals, are not eligible to participate in the competition.

Award Amount: Chosen applicant will receive $1,000.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.
