Global Automotive Aftermarket Symposium

Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually and is dependent on funding. Last year, 150 awards were offered.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  3. Must be a current high school senior or currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate program.
  4. Must enroll full time in a postsecondary program.
  5. Must be enrolled in a college-level program or an Automotive Service Excellence (ASE)/National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF)-certified postsecondary automotive technical program.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: U.S. students who have graduated within the past two years and are enrolled in a college-level program or an ASE/NATEF-certified postsecondary automotive technical program are eligible for this award. Priority will be given to students who plan a career in the automotive aftermarket, or sons and daughters of families who are in the automotive aftermarket.

Application requirements for the Global Automotive Aftermarket Symposium (GAAS) Scholarship Program are:

  • Application form
  • Essay
  • Recommendation letter
  • Official Transcript
Additional Information: Priority will be given to students who plan a career in the automotive aftermarket, or to sons and daughters of families who are in the automotive aftermarket. The GAAS Scholarship selection committee will meet in May. All applicants will be notified by June. Staff members of GAAS-sponsoring associations, their family members, and former GAAS Scholarship recipients are not eligible. Graduate programs and undergraduate part-time programs do not qualify.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.
