Conference of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO)

Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or legal resident.
  3. Must be an undergraduate student entering his/her junior or senior year or a graduate student.
  4. Must be enrolled in 12 or more semester credits at an accredited college/university in the upcoming fall semester.
  5. Must be pursuing a degree in engineering or other technical transportation-related discipline.
  6. Must have a career interest in transportation or a related field.
  7. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: U.S. college juniors and seniors and graduate students who are pursuing a degree in engineering or other technical transportation-related discipline are eligible for this award. Students must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

Application requirements for the LTK Engineering Scholarship are:

Additional Information: If the applicant is not an existing member of COMTO, he/she will be required to become a member within 30 days of the scholarship award. Internship opportunities with LTK will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Winners will be notified by May 15, 2019. Selections will be made by a team of industry professionals and representatives from the academic community. Winners will be announced at the COMTO National Meeting and Training Conference Scholarship Luncheon in Detroit, MI. Scholarship recipients may be asked to attend the National Scholarship Luncheon to be held at the annual conference in Detroit on July 11-14.

Award Amount: $6,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $6,000.
