Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.
  3. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
  4. Must be a member of Rho Chi Honor Society in good standing.
  5. Must be enrolled full time.
  6. Must be a senior pharmacy student currently enrolled in a dual-degree pathway leading to a professional degree in pharmacy and the Ph.D. or entering a first-year graduate program in an accredited school of pharmacy. The student cannot be currently enrolled in a graduate program.
  7. Must be in the final year of professional studies or have completed professional studies.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is available to members of the Rho Chi Honor Society who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents with a 3.0 grade point average or higher. Students must be planning to enroll full-time in a graduate or Ph.D. program for pharmacy.

Application requirements for the Rho Chi-AFPE First Year Graduate School Scholarship are:

Additional Information: The award may be used for any purpose decided by the awardee and faculty sponsor that will enable the student to have a successful program (e.g. , student stipend, laboratory supplies, books, materials, travel, etc.) related to the program of graduate study. None of the funds shall be used for indirect costs by the institution. The recipient will be notified by April, and will be invited to attend an award ceremony held during the Annual Meeting of the American Pharmaceutical Association (APhA) in November.

Award Amount: $7,500 annually, non-renewable. Funding for successful applicants will be provided in two equal installments on Sept. 1, 2016, and Feb. 1, 2017. Funding will be released upon receipt of confirmation the student is enrolled in a pharmacy college graduate program for the Ph.D. Enrollment in a pharmacy college graduate program for the Ph.D. which must occur no later than 16 months after completion of his/her B.S. or Pharm.D. program.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $7,500.
