Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  3. Must be a college sophomore, junior, or senior in the upcoming academic year.
  4. Must be enrolled in a mechanical engineering or related baccalaureate program. Applicants must demonstrate a special interest in the areas of fuels, combustion, or the power industry.
  5. Must be enrolled full time.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: U.S. college students who will be sophomores, juniors, or seniors that demonstrate a special interest in the areas of fuels, combustion, or the power industry are eligible for this award. Applicants must be enrolled in an ABET-accredited or substantially equivalent mechanical engineering or related baccalaureate program.

Additional Information: Applicants must be enrolled in an ABET-accredited school for the upcoming academic year. Information regarding accreditation status is available online at main.abet.org/aps/Accreditedprogramsearch.aspx. Applicants also must have established a grade point average in their degree programs to qualify. If applicants have not established a grade point average at the college level, they are not eligible to apply. This award will be awarded on the basis of financial need, scholastic ability, and potential contribution to the mechanical engineering profession. All applicants will be notified of the scholarship results between June 15 and July 1. Scholarship money will be sent to scholarship winners by the end of August.

Award Amount: $3,000 annually, non-renewable. Scholarship awardees from past years will not be selected to receive additional scholarships. Students must apply again each year.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $3,000.
