Number of Awards & Eligibility: Three awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be enrolled in an approved college/university that is accredited by the Environmental Health Accreditation Council or is a NEHA Educational or Sustaining Member School. For a current list of accredited environmental health programs, please visit www.ehacoffice.org.
  3. Must be majoring in environmental health.
  4. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  5. Must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at time of application.

Additional Information: The National Environmental Health Association (NEHA) and the American Academy of Sanitarians (AAS) have established education in environmental health as one of their principle goals. The purpose of the NEHA/AAS Scholarship program is to encourage early commitment by students to pursue a career in environmental health and to stimulate past and present graduates to pursue postgraduate studies in environmental health sciences. The program offers financial assistance to individuals with a demonstrable need, and serves to introduce adequately trained professionals into the environmental health workforce. The National Environmental Health Association prohibits any discrimination in employment or in the administration of any program or service offered by NEHA on the basis of race, color or national origin. Furthermore, this policy prohibits any discrimination on the basis of gender, age, physical handicap, religious affiliation or sexual orientation.

Award Amount: Three undergraduate awards of $1,000 annually, non-renewable. One graduate award of $2,000 annually, non-renewable. The scholarship will be paid directly to the college or university for the fall semester of the award.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,250.
