Number of Awards & Eligibility: An average of five awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen.
  3. Must be pursuing or plan to pursue postsecondary education or training (i.e., certificate, degree, etc.).
  4. Must reside in Caledonia, Essex, Lamoille, Orange, Orleans, or Washington counties in Vermont.
  5. Must seek education or training related to health or allied health care, including, but not limited to, health, dental health, mental and behavioral health, public health, or social work.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is open to Vermont students pursuing postsecondary education or training related to health or allied health care who reside in Caledonia, Essex, Lamoille, Orange, Orleans, or Washington counties. Students must demonstrate an interest in providing health care in one of Vermont's rural communities and must also demonstrate financial need.

Additional Information: The Northeastern Vermont Area Health Education Center established this scholarship to honor Dr. Mildred A. Reardon. Applicants must demonstrate interest in providing health care in one of Vermont's rural communities, and must demonstrate financial need. Selection is based on application documents and financial need. There are approximately 138 applicants for this award each year.
