Number of Awards & Eligibility: Four awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.
  3. Must be majoring in and planning to pursue a career in welding or a related metal-working field.
  4. Must reside in Houston, TX.
  5. Must be enrolled in or applying to an accredited vocational school or undergraduate program.

Description: This scholarship is available for U.S. undergraduate and vocational students who reside in Houston. Applicants must be majoring in welding.

Additional Information: Each year, the Houston Chapter of the American Welding Society provides three awards to local-area students who are pursuing higher education and instruction in welding and related metal-working specializations. These scholarships are named in honor of George Kampschafer, Dr. Daryle W. Morgan, Ron VanArsdale, and Ronald Theiss, local leaders in the industry. Award applications are available for study at vocational and accreditation programs, as well as two- and four-year undergraduate programs.

Award Amount: $500 to $1,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $667.
