  2. Must be an undergraduate student at the time of application.
  3. Must be pursuing academic advancement toward a career in welding.
  4. This award is for U.S. students.
  5. Must be a resident of Sacramento, California.

Description: This scholarship is available for U.S. undergraduate students who reside in Sacramento California and plan to pursue a career in welding.

Additional Information: This scholarship is provided through a partnership between Tri Tools and the Sacramento Section of the American Welding Society. Each year, a financial award will be provided to a local area student who wishes to pursue an undergraduate degree in the hopes of pursuing a career in welding and welding-related fields.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.

Applications are available online on the American Welding Society (AWS) website. In addition to the completed application, the student must also submit the following: two letters of reference with one letter of reference indicating previous hands-on welding experience; a personal statement; original official transcript(s) sent directly from the college or university (if applying for more than one scholarship, only one transcript must be an original official transcript); verification of enrollment; an essay as specified on the application; and a statement of unmet financial need. Students must also file the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) by the deadline date. The FAFSA is available online at www.fafsa.ed.gov, at high school guidance offices, and at college financial aid offices. The application and all supporting materials must be submitted online by the deadline date.
