Number of Awards & Eligibility: 10 cash awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for international and U.S. students.
  2. Must have an interest in writing poetry.
  3. Must be 18 years of age or older.

Description: This poetry contest is open to any student who submits an original, unpublished poem of no longer than 32 lines and the submission fee.

Application requirements for the Writer’s Digest Poetry Awards Program are:

Additional Information: The following people are not permitted to enter the competition: employees of F&W Publications, Inc., and their immediate families, and Writer's Digest contributing editors and correspondents as listed on the masthead. Winners will be notified by March 15.

Award Amount: $1,000 for first place, $250 for second place, $100 for third place.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $170.
