In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be an Arkansas resident.
  3. Must be pursuing professional training in the fields of: dentistry, veterinary medicine, optometry, osteopathic medicine, podiatric medicine, or chiropractic medicine.
  4. Must enroll in a designated program of study at one of the following institutions: the University of Tennessee, Meharry Medical College, Louisiana State University, the University of Louisville, the University of Oklahoma, Texas A&M University System HSC, University of Alabama (Birmingham), Mississippi State University, Tuskegee University, the University of Missouri, Oklahoma State University, Southern College of Optometry, Northeastern State University, Des Moines University, Pikeville College, Midwestern University, the University of Health Sciences, Finch University of Health Sciences (Chicago), Barry University, Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine, Cleveland Chiropractic College, Logan College of Chiropractic, Parker College of Chiropractic, Texas Chiropractic College, or Palmer Chiropractic College.
  5. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  6. Must be enrolled in a graduate or professional degree program.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is available to Arkansas graduate students who are studying dentistry, veterinary medicine, optometry, osteopathic medicine, podiatric medicine, or chiropractic medicine at an eligible out-of-state institution.

Additional Information: The Arkansas Health Education Grant Program provides assistance to students seeking professional training in chiropractic medicine, dentistry, optometry, osteopathic medicine, podiatric medicine, and veterinary medicine to allow them to attend out-of-state institutions. Each Participating Institution will select eligible grant recipients for each Applicable Academic Period. Students should visit the Arkansas Department of Higher Education website for additional information regarding the eligible programs, the eligible out-of-state institutions, and awarding eligibility.

Award Amount: No more than $5,000 per student  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $5,000.
