Number of Awards & Eligibility: Two awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen.
  3. Must be a high school senior.
  4. Must reside in New Castle County, Delaware.
  5. Must pursue a degree in chemistry, physics, biology, other science, mathematics, or music.
  6. Must be involved in community service.

Description: This scholarship is open to high school seniors who reside in New Castle County, Delaware, and plan to pursue a degree in chemistry, physics, biology, other science, mathematics, or music. Students must demonstrate financial need.

  • Test scores
  • Tax return
  • Official Transcript
  • FAFSA
  • Essays (2)
  • Recommendation letter
Additional Information: All applicants must demonstrate financial need. To ensure complete impartiality in selection of recipients and to maintain a high level of professionalism, DCF programs are administered by AcademicWorks, a firm that specializes in managing sponsored scholarship programs. An independent selection committee will evaluate the applications and select the recipients considering: extracurricular activities; community involvement; essay content; academic achievements and records; financial need. Decisions of the selection committees are final and are not subject to appeal. No application feedback will be given. Notifications are sent to recipients and applicants not selected to receive an award via email by the end of June.

Award Amount: $3,000 annually, non-renewable. The award amount is at the discretion of the Board of Directors at the DCF.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $6,000.
