Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be a high school senior at the time of application.
  2. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  3. Must be graduating from a public high school in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
  4. Must be planning to enroll at the University of Michigan.
  5. Must demonstrate unmet financial need.
  6. Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.
  7. This award is for U.S. students.

Description: This award is available for undergraduate residents of Grand Rapids, Michigan who are attending the University of Michigan. Applicants must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher and demonstrate unmet financial need.

Additional Information: The Grand Rapids Community Foundation awards hundreds of scholarships annually, primarily to Kent County students bound for or in college, or those pursuing a technical career. This scholarship, provided annually in honor of Michael J. Wolf, is awarded to an undergraduate student who resides in the city of Grand Rapids and attends college at the University of Michigan. Selection for the scholarship will be based on academic performance and financial need.

Award Amount: Awards range from $500 to $5,000 depending on the student's unmet need and the availability of funds. Average awards are about $1,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.
