Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be a resident of Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, or Pennsylvania.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.
  3. This award is for U.S. students.
  4. Must demonstrate an interest in and talent for writing.
  5. Must be majoring in journalism or communications.
  6. Must be a woman.
  7. Must be an undergraduate student at the time of application.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is available for women in Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, or Pennsylvania who are majoring in journalism or communications. Applicants must demonstrate academic achievement and recognition for a talent in writing.

Application requirements for the Carlozzi Family Scholarship are:

  • Recommendation letter
Additional Information: The Carlozzi Family Scholarship is provided each year to a woman who is majoring in journalism and has demonstrated a talent for writing. Recipients of scholarship awards will be notified no later than March and will be acknowledged on-stage at the Matrix Awards Luncheon in May in New York City. Scholarship recipients must provide confirmation of acceptance into an undergraduate or graduate program no later than May. Scholarship monies will be awarded directly to educational institutions in June.

Award Amount: $2,500 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,500.
