Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must reside in Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, or Pennsylvania.
  2. Must be majoring in journalism or communications.
  3. Must be female.
  4. Must have a grade point average of 3.2 or higher.
  5. This award is for U.S. students.
  6. Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.
  7. Must be an accepted or enrolled as an undergraduate student at the time of application.

Description: This scholarship and internship opportunity is available for female journalism and communications majors who reside in Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, or Pennsylvania.

Additional Information: Provided by Scholastic, this award is awarded in honor of the memory of Judy Corman. Students applying for this scholarship must be available to complete a paid internship at Scolastic's headquarters in NYC. The internship will be during the summer following the scholarship application deadline. Recipients of scholarship awards will be notified no later than March and will be acknowledged on-stage at the Matrix Awards Luncheon in May in New York City. Scholarship recipients must provide confirmation of acceptance into an undergraduate or graduate program no later than May. Scholarship monies will be awarded directly to educational institutions in June.

Award Amount: $5,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $5,000.
