Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for international and U.S. students.
  2. Must have participated in 4-H.
  3. Must major in poultry science.
  4. Must plan to enroll or be enrolled full time.
  5. Must be a resident of North Carolina.
  6. Must attend North Carolina State University.
  7. Must be an incoming freshman or currently enrolled upperclassman.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is available for North Carolina high school seniors and undergraduate students who are 4-H members. Students must plan to attend North Carolina State University and major in poultry science.

Application requirements for the Thomas A. Carter Family 4-H and Poultry Scholarship are:

Additional Information: Please note: All eligible students must have filed an application for admission to at least one institution of higher learning, and must arrange for and take the SAT and/or ACT. It is the student's responsibility to make all arrangements for college admissions. Selection will be based on the following: 4-H record (50 percent); scholastic achievement as measured by performance in high school courses (25 percent); and college aptitude as measured by performance on college entrance exams, such as the SAT and ACT (25 percent). Recipients will be selected in March. Recipients must attend the 4-H Scholarships and Awards Luncheon held during the N.C. 4-H Congress. Recipients may be required to attend the CALS Donor Recognition Event in the fall.

Award Amount: $600 annually, non-renewable. All 4-H scholarships will be paid directly to the college or university. They will not be made payable to the recipient nor his/her parents.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $600.
