Description: This award is available to Oklahoma undergraduate students who are attending an eligible Oklahoma college or university. Students must submit a FAFSA and have an EFC (Expected Family Contribution) of 1700 or lower.

Application requirements for the Oklahoma Tuition Aid Grant (OTAG) are:

  • FAFSA
Additional Information: Financial need is measured by the Expected Family Contribution (EFC), which is determined based on the information the student provides on his/her FAFSA. Currently, OTAG awards are limited to students with an EFC of 1700 or lower. The EFC appears on the Student Aid Report (SAR) sent to students by the U.S. Department of Education once their FAFSA has been processed.

Award Amount: The maximum annual award is the lesser of 75 percent of enrollment costs or $1,000 for students attending public colleges, universities or career technology centers, and $1,300 for students attending eligible private colleges or universities. One-half of the award is disbursed in the fall semester, and one-half is disbursed in the spring semester. Funds are released to eligible students by campus officials after eligibility has been confirmed. The OTAG program rules do not specify a maximum number of semesters; however, limits on the duration of federal PELL grant eligibility also limit OTAG eligibility. Program rules state that otherwise eligible undergraduate students can continue to receive awards as long as they are eligible for funding from the federal Pell grant program. Students must submit a FAFSA every year to receive the award.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,300.
