Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for international and U.S. students.
  2. Must be a female.
  3. Must enroll full time.
  4. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  5. Must be a re-entry/nontraditional student.
  6. Must major in engineering (any field) or computer science.
  7. Must be a member of the Society of Women Engineers (SWE).
  8. Must be attending school in the SWE Region J boundaries: Alaska, Washington, Oregon, Montana, and Idaho.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is open to female re-entry/non-traditional students who are majoring in engineering or computer science and are members of SWE. Students must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher and attend an institution within the SWE Region J boundaries.

Application requirements for the SWE Region J Scholarship are:

  • Application form
  • Official Transcript
  • Resume
  • Recommendation letters (2)
Additional Information: The availability of the scholarship is dependent upon renewals. Applicants may not be current recipients of a renewable SWE scholarship or receiving full funding for education from another organization (such as members of the armed services attending US military academies and students receiving full reimbursement from an employer.) The applicant must enroll or plan to enroll in an engineering program accredited by ABET. Accreditation status for degree programs at specific schools can be found at main.abet.org/aps/Accreditedprogramsearch.aspx.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, renewable for five years.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.
