This scholarship is offered to Korean-American undergraduate or graduate students who are attending college in the northeastern region of the U.S. as defined by the Korean American Scholarship Fund. The Korean American Scholarship Foundation (KASF) – Northeastern Regional Chapter (NERC) is pleased to announce a scholarship program in honor and recognition of 1.6 million American Veterans who served in the Korean War during the Korean War era (June 25, 1950–January 31, 1955). These men and women answered the call to fight for a country and people they never knew and never met. More than 54,000 Americans died and 103,000 were wounded.
To express our gratitude to these veterans for their sacrifices, KASF-NERC will offer their descendants an opportunity to apply for a scholarship. KASF-NERC scholarship program will recognize outstanding students who have demonstrated outstanding talents and potential for success. Awardees attending in college or graduate school will receive a check of $2,000 scholarships from KASF and be able to attend the Annual Awards Gala to be held in New York City.
The Timothy Bigelow and Palmer W. Bigelow, Jr. Scholarship was created in 1988 by the Palmer W. Bigelow family (Bigelow Nurseries in Northboro, MA) to aid students from New England who are seeking a career in horticulture. The scholarship is dedicated to one of the family’s children, the late Timothy Bigelow and to Palmer W. (“Bill”) Bigelow, who died in 1997. The Bigelow family considers student scholarships the most important commitment that the horticultural industry can make to ensure the growth and development of the nursery and landscape industry.
The Edward Leon Duhamel Freemasons Scholarship provides tuition support to undergraduate descendants of members of the Franklin Lodge of Freemasons in Westerly, Rhode Island. Students must be residents of Rhode Island and demonstrate financial need.
The purpose of this scholarship is to assist low-income single parents who reside in Rhode Island in the pursuit of an education beyond high school. Preference will be given to parents currently or previously receiving state aid and those who have been previously incarcerated.
This scholarship is available for U.S. students who are 15 years of age or older and pursuing a professional aviation career as a pilot. Students must be residents of New England and attend flight school in New England.
