Tennessee Cooperative Baptist Fellowship

Number of Awards & Eligibility: At least one award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be entering or currently enrolled in a master's or doctoral program.
  3. Must be pursuing theological studies.
  4. Must have Tennessee connections through birth, residence, college education, or a desire to serve in the state.
  5. Must be a member of a Cooperative Baptist Fellowship-affiliated congregation or demonstrate support to state and/or national CBF programs, ministries, or missions.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is open to U.S. students who plan to pursue or are currently pursuing a master's or doctoral program in theology (or a related field). Students must have Tennessee connections through birth, residence, college education, or a desire to serve in the state; and must be a member of a Cooperative Baptist Fellowship-affiliated congregation or demonstrate support to state and/or national CBF programs, ministries, or missions.

Additional Information: Ircel Harrison served as Tennessee CBF Coordinator from 1998 to 2008. After his retirement, the staff and Coordinating Council of TCBF decided to rename the TCBF Theological Scholarship in his honor. Upon approval by the Coordinating Council, the scholarship will be awarded to an individual pending confirmation of the student’s enrollment. The scholarship recipient will be notified prior to the TCBF General Assembly where the scholarship is presented. The scholarship will be awarded upon the applicant's acceptance at an ATS-approved theological school where tuition is not supplemented by the Cooperative Program of the Southern Baptist Convention.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, non-renewable. Students may reapply each academic year.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.
