Number of Awards & Eligibility: One or more scholarships provided annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must attend or have previously attended Burkburnett High School in Burkburnett, Texas.
  2. Must be majoring in business or geology.
  3. Must be a high school senior, undergraduate, or graduate student.
  4. Must have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher.

Description: The Felty Family Scholarship is available for graduating seniors and current university students who attend or previously attended Burkburnett High School in Burkburnett, Texas. Applicants must be attending or planning to attend Midwestern State University and must be majoring in geology or business.

Additional Information: The Felty Family Scholarship is provided annually through the Wichita Falls Area Community Foundation, and seeks to reward local area high school students who show a combination of academic achievement and unmet financial need. To be eligible for this program, applicants must be current high school seniors in Burkburnett, Texas and must have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher. Applicants must be attending or planning to attend Midwestern State University and must be majoring in or planning to major in business or geology. Additional preference will be given to current MBA students who are pusuing a degree that combines these fields with a focus on oil and gas exploration & geology.

Award Amount: Award amounts and renewability are variable depending upon each recipient's demonstrated financial need.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,000.
