Number of Awards & Eligibility: Varies, based on the number of qualified applicants and the amount of funding available.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a Texas resident.
  3. Must enroll for at least half time.
  4. Must be seeking a degree or certification from a Texas public or private, non-profit postsecondary.
  5. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  6. Must be a high school graduate or older.
  7. Must demonstrate financial need.

Description: This award is for Texas students who are attending a college or university in Texas. The program helps eligible students find part-time jobs to cover cost of attending college. The student must demonstrate financial need, as determined by the institution, to be eligible.

Additional Information: The Texas College Work-Study Program is a state program, administered through the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, established to provide part-time jobs to eligible students with financial need to enable them to attend public and private non-profit colleges in Texas. The award is based on the financial need of the student, as determined by the participating institution. In addition to meeting the program requirements, students must: register for the Selective Service or sign a statement of exemption; not concurrently be receiving an athletic scholarship and; not be enrolled in a seminary or other program leading to ordination or licensure to preach for a religious sect or to be a member of a religious order.

Award Amount: The award amount varies and is determined by the participating institution based on the student's demonstrated financial need. The average annual award amount recipients received for the previous academic year was for approximately $1,350. Award amounts, in combination with other forms of aid, may not exceed the student's demonstrated financial need. Awards may be renewable, depending on the institutions financial aid policy. Students should contact the institution for additional information.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,350.
