Number of Awards & Eligibility: Two awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a student member of ASM International.
  3. Must have an intended or declared major in metallurgy or materials science engineering (an applicant majoring in related science or engineering disciplines will be considered if he/she demonstrates a strong academic emphasis and interest in materials science).
  4. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  5. Must achieve junior or senior standing by the fall of the award year.
  6. Must attend a college or university in Wisconsin.
  7. Must be a resident of Wisconsin.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: Students who are juniors or seniors in a metallurgy or materials science engineering program and are members of ASM International are eligible for this award. Applicants must be residents of Wisconsin and attending a college or university in Wisconsin.

  • Photograph
Additional Information: The selection committee considers a variety of factors including academic achievement (grades, courses selected, and interdisciplinary skills/interests), interest in the field (knowledge of the metallurgy/materials engineering field, demonstrated interest through activities/jobs, and potential for a related career) and personal qualities (motivation, social values, maturity, and goals). Applicants will be considered for all awards for which they qualify. Recipients will be notified by July 15.

Award Amount: $2,500 annually, renewable for up to one additional year. No applicant may receive more than two consecutive scholarship awards.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $5,000.
