Number of Awards & Eligibility: Two scholarships will be awarded.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must have Type 1 diabetes.
  2. Must be a graduating high school senior from a public or private school, homeschooled student or college student.
  3. Must be a US citizen or a legal resident.

Description: Type 1 Champions provided for four years over $19,000 in scholarships. These scholarships will be available for Kansas and Missouri students who battle Type 1 diabetes. These scholarships will recognize brave students who demonstrate character and much more while engaged in a healthy self-management of their Type 1 diabetes.

Application requirements for the Type 1 Champions Scholarships are:

  • Essay
  • Recommendation letter
  • Application form
  • Personal statement
  • Official Transcript
Additional Information: To be eligible you must meet the following criteria: • Have Type 1 diabetes • Be a graduating high school senior from a public or private school, a home schooled student or college student • Be committed to using education to better your life and that of your family and/or community • Academic Requirements: Good academic standing and enrolled as a fulltime student • Financial Need Factor: Candidates are not required to demonstrate financial need • Geographic Requirement: Reside in either the State of Missouri or the State of Kansas • Major Field of Study: Open • Where Award can be used: Any accredited 2 or 4-year college or university in the United States • Renewal Requirement: Application required each year Citizenship: Be a US citizen or legal resident

Award Amount: Winners can receive up to $3,000.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $6,000.
