Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a resident of Ohio.
  3. Must attend an eligible postsecondary institution in Ohio or Pennsylvania.
  4. Must be enrolled at least part-time.
  5. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  6. Must be a high school senior or older.
  7. Must have an Expected Family Contribution (EFC) of $2,190 or less and have a household income of $75,000 or less.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is available to Ohio resident undergraduate students who are planning to attend an eligible postsecondary institution in Ohio or Pennsylvania. The student must demonstrate financial need and must not have a family income over $75,000 or a calculated EFC of more than $2,190.

Additional Information: The Ohio College Opportunity Grant (OCOG) is a state program, administered by Ohio Board of Regents, established to provide financial assistance to Ohio students who are enrolled at Ohio public university main campuses (not regional campuses or community colleges), Ohio private, non-profit colleges or universities, and Ohio private, for-profit institutions. The OCOG is awarded based on total family income and the Expected Family Contribution (EFC) from the FAFSA. To qualify, the family's total income must be equal to or less than $75,000 and the EFC has to be equal to or less than 2190. In the event of insufficient funding, priority for an OCOG award will be given to students who demonstrate the highest financial need.

Award Amount: Award amounts ranges from $150 to $2,832 annually based on student's enrollment status and the type of institution he/she is attending. Students are eligible to receive awards for up to a maximum of 10 semesters or 15 quarters. Recipients must re-apply each year.In addition to the annual award amount, eligible students continuously enrolled may receive an additional 1/2 or 1/3 of their respective award amount in the third semester or fourth quarter. Award amounts are established annually by the Ohio Board of Regents and are subject to change.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,371.
