In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is open to Florida students who will be enrolled as juniors or seniors in the University of North Florida College of Education and Human Services in an area leading to Florida teaching certification. Students must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher and demonstrate financial need.

Application requirements for the UNF Main Street America Group Urban Education Scholarship are:

Additional Information: All students must demonstrate financial need as defined by the UNF Office of Financial Aid. Recipients are chosen by a selection committee. Students will be notified of their selection status in April or May. Recipients will be recognized at an awards reception in the fall. Students must attend the awards reception as a condition of receiving the scholarship or fellowship. Recipients must meet the following responsibilities: maintain a grade point average of 3.0 or higher for the junior and senior years; consent to release grades to the Division of Institutional Advancement for the purpose of reporting to the donor; comply with all University regulations, rules, and codes of conduct governing students on campus; and remain in good standing as a student.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, disbursed in equal installments in fall and spring terms.Current recipients may reapply for scholarship support, pending availability of funding, if all of the eligibility requirements have been met. However, current recipients will not be given preference.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.
