Number of Awards & Eligibility: Two scholarships are being awarded. One for $3,000 and the other for $2,000.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be a female.
  2. Must be an undergraduate or graduate student.
  3. Must be pursuing communications, media, journalism, english or a related field.

Description: The “Empowering America” Scholarship program consists of one $3,000 scholarship for a winning student and one $2,000 scholarship for a student selected as runner-up, made payable directly to each student’s educational institute. The winner will create two profiles/interview pieces for the AWM website.

Application requirements for the Ford Empowering America Scholarship are:

Additional Information: The scholarship is open to female undergraduate and graduate students studying media, journalism, English, communications and related fields enrolled in the 2020-2021 school year. Applicants must submit one letter of recommendation from a professor or a journalism/media/communications professional, proof of enrollment via a copy of your student id or transcript and one essay of 250 words in length, based on a profile of a woman who impacts you.

Award Amount: Awards are for up to $5,000.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $5,000.
