Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.
  2. This award is for U.S. students.
  3. Must plan to pursue a career in medicine.
  4. Must be a high school senior or undergraduate at the time of application.
  5. Must reside in Hawaii.
  6. Must be enrolled in, or be the family member of someone who is enrolled in AlohaCare.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: The AlohaCare Scholarship is available for high school seniors and undergraduate students in Hawaii who are enrolled in an AlohaCare member.

Application requirements for the AlohaCare Scholarship are:

  • Application form
  • Essay
  • Recommendation letter
  • Transcript
Additional Information: AlohaCare will pay the winner’s educational institution directly. This payment will not count as income or affect eligibility for enrollment in AlohaCare.

Award Amount: $5,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $5,000.

Applications and information about this award can be found online at the AlohaCare website using the provided link. To be considered for an award, students must submit the following: a completed application form; three essay responses of 250 words each; a letter of recommendation; and a copy of transcripts for all coursework currently completed. Students must also sign the confidentiality waiver and statement of accuracy. All applications and supporting documents must be mailed or otherwise delivered to the provided address, and must be received no later than the deadline date.
