Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be studying mental health.
  3. Must be enrolled or planning to enroll in a graduate program.
  4. Must be a resident of Washington state.
  5. Preference is given to self-identified LGBT students, members of LGBT families, and straight allies who have been supportive of the LGBT community.

Description: This award is available for U.S. citizens who are residents of Washington state and are enrolled or planning to enroll in a graduate program studying mental health. Preference is given to self-identified LGBT students, members of LGBT families, and straight allies who have been supportive of the LGBT community.

Application requirements for the Don Renschler Scholarship are:

  • Essays (6)
  • Artwork samples (opt.)
  • Interview (finalists only)
Additional Information: Pride Foundation is able to offer a diversity of scholarships, which encourage students of different backgrounds and educational interests to apply. Most scholarships are available for straight ally or questioning students as well as student of LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender) parents. All promote leadership and diversity in the LGBT community.

Award Amount: The monetary award amount varies and is determined by the Pride Foundation. Generally, scholarships offered through the foundation are a minimum of $500 to a maximum of $12,000. The award is offered annually and is non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $12,000.
