Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for international and U.S. students.
  2. Must have a grade point average of 2.0 or higher. Applicants with lower grade point averages may be considered if they have otherwise outstanding qualifications or extenuating circumstances.
  3. Must be pursuing a career in a field that is related to floriculture or horticulture. Applicants for this award must have a career goal to become a bedding plant grower for an established business.
  4. Must be a college sophomore, junior, or senior, or a graduate student.
  5. Must be a citizen or resident of the U.S. or Canada OR be enrolled in an accredited educational institution in the U.S. or Canada.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is available for U.S. and Canadian undergraduate and graduate students who have the career goal to become a bedding plant grower for an established business. Applicants must have a grade point average of 2.0 or higher.

Application requirements for the Lawrence ‘Bud’ Ohlman Memorial Scholarship are:

Additional Information: Bud Ohlman was a hands-on grower in his family business, expanding the truck gardening operation to include greenhouses, bedding plant and flowering annuals production. He coached expansion projects even into his 70s. Each student who has won a scholarship will be sent a notification letter by U.S. mail. Scholarship decisions will be made by August of each year.

Award Amount: $500 annually, non-renewable. All scholarships are provided as cash awards with checks issued jointly in the name of the recipient and the college or institution he/she will be attending in the fall.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $500.
