Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for international and U.S. students.
  2. Must be a college sophomore, junior, senior, or graduate student in the upcoming academic year.
  3. Must be a female.
  4. Must be enrolled in a mechanical engineering or mechanical engineering technology baccalaureate or graduate program in the United States.
  5. Must be enrolled full time.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Additional Information: This scholarship is awarded in memory of Kate Gleason, who in 1914 became the first female member of ASME and successfully paved the way for the emergence of women in the field of engineering. The Kate Gleason Scholarship will be awarded to a female engineering student who exemplifies the same entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to engineering. Applicants must be enrolled in an ABET-accredited school for the upcoming academic year. Information regarding accreditation status is available online at main.abet.org/aps/Accreditedprogramsearch.aspx. Applicants also must have established a grade point average in their degree programs to qualify. If applicants have not established a grade point average at the college level, they are not eligible to apply. The award recipient will be selected on the basis of scholastic ability and potential contribution to the mechanical engineering profession.

Award Amount: $3,000 annually, non-renewable. Scholarship awardees from past years will not be selected to receive additional scholarships. Students must apply again each year.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $3,000.
