Number of Awards & Eligibility: One or more awards provided annually, depending on the number of qualified applicants.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must attend a high school in Dutchess, Putnam or Westchester County, New York or Fairfield County, Connecticut.
  2. This award is for U.S. students.
  3. Must plan to study a field that will lead to a career in the building/construction industry.
  4. Must be a high school senior at the time of application.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is available for current high school seniors in Dutchess, Putnam or Westchester County, New York or Fairfield County, Connecticut. Applicants must be planning to enroll in an accredited undergraduate or vocational program in construction and other specializations within the building industry.

Application requirements for the Acacio “Roger” Rodrigues Memorial Scholarship are:

  • Application form
  • Essay
  • Recommendation letter
  • Official Transcript
  • Student Aid Report
Additional Information: Established by the Rodrigues family, in memory of Acacio "Roger" Rodrigues, scholarships will be awarded to graduating high school seniors who reside in Dutchess, Putnam or Westchester County, New York or Fairfield County, Connecticut and who plan to study in a field which will lead to a career in the building/construction industry. These fields include but are not limited to architecture, engineering, construction management, electrical construction technology, plumbing and heating, welding and fabrication, etc.

Award Amount: $2,000 annually, renewable for up to an additional three years if the student maintains a grade point average of 2.7 or higher.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $8,000.
