Number of Awards & Eligibility: Up to three awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be a member of the Pittsburgh, PA Chapter of the AIST.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.
  3. Must be pursuing a career in the iron and steel industry.
  4. This award is for U.S. students.
  5. Must be accepted to or enrolled in an accredited undergraduate program.
  6. Must enroll or plan to enroll full time.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is available for U.S. high school seniors and undergraduate students in Pittsburgh, PA who are planning to major in engineering and pursue a career in iron and steel technology. Applicants must be AIST members or dependents of AIST members.

Application requirements for the AIST Pittsburgh Member Chapter Scholarship are:

  • Copy of SAT/ACT Score Report
Additional Information: The objectives of the AIST Pittsburgh Chapter Scholarships are to reward and encourage AIST Pittsburgh Chapter area high school seniors or currently enrolled undergraduate students preparing for a career in engineering or metallurgy by providing a grant of financial support during full-time attendance at any accredited North American college or university. One award is provided in honor of Lawrence G. Maloney, and two are provided by the chapter at large. AIST Foundation Scholarship awards are intended to attract talented and dedicated students and to encourage them to pursue careers within the iron and steel industry. The AIST Foundation Board of Trustees administers the scholarships. Please note: Students must be AIST members or dependents of AIST members to apply for this award.

Award Amount: $2,500 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,500.
