Conference of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO)

Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or legal resident.
  3. Must be a graduating high school student who has been accepted to an accredited university or technical college.
  4. Must intend to study in the area of transportation. Acceptable disciplines include technology, engineering, planning, and management.
  5. Must have a career interest in transportation.
  6. Must have an overall grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  7. Must have an active commitment to community service.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: U.S. high school seniors who intend to study in the field of transportation or a related discipline (e.g., technology, engineering, planning, management) are eligible to apply for this award. Students must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher and an active commitment to community service.

Additional Information: Winners will be notified by May 15, 2019. Selections will be made by a team of industry professionals and representatives from the academic community. Winners will be announced at the COMTO National Meeting and Training Conference Scholarship Luncheon in Detroit, MI. Scholarship recipients may be asked to attend the National Scholarship Luncheon to be held at the annual conference in Detroit on July 11-14.

Award Amount: $2,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,000.
