Number of Awards & Eligibility: Two awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a resident of the Mid-Hudson Valley Region (Columbia, Dutchess, Greene, Orange, Putnam and Ulster counties in New York).
  3. Must plan to attend the Culinary Institute of America.
  4. Must be a high school senior at the time of application.

Description: This award is available for current high school seniors in the Mid-Hudson region who are planning to attend the Culinary Institute of America.

Application requirements for the Cosimo DiBrizzi Memorial Scholarship are:

Additional Information: Established by the family of Cosimo DiBrizzi and the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce to honor his memory, this scholarship is available to any resident of the Mid-Hudson Valley who is pursuing career training at the Culinary Institute of America in New York state.

Award Amount: $1,500 to $3,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,250.

Applications are available online from the Community Foundation of the Hudson Valley website at the address provided. In addition to the completed application, each applicant must submit two letters of recommendation (one academic and one personal); a copy of his/her most recent transcript; a copy of the student's Student Aid Report (SAR) and Expected Family Contribution (EFC) information; and an essay of approximately 500 words responding to the prompt listed on the application. The Student Aid Report (SAR) is obtained by filing the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). The FAFSA is available online at www.fafsa.ed.gov, at high school guidance offices, and at college financial aid offices. Applications must be completed online by the deadline date.
